This Wood Plate originates from Jogyakarta, Indonesia. It is food safe and decorated with a hand drawn Batik design, using a special local wood that can handle the batik process. Batik is one of Java's most famous and highly developed art traditions. It involves a multi-stage process of drawing a design in hot Wax, dying and then dipping in boiling water to removing the wax. The process is repeated for every color. This plate also makes a great center piece.
